BlueprintInspector & BlueprintScribe
Unreal editor tools that make Blueprint and asset structure available to scripts and AI-assisted development workflows.
Making Unreal project structure inspectable
I built Unreal editor tooling, including BlueprintInspector and BlueprintScribe, to connect Blueprint work with programmatic inspection and AI-assisted development. The tools complement my gameplay work in C++ and Blueprints.
Blueprint assets are binary, so an ordinary text-based coding workflow cannot inspect them like source files. BlueprintInspector makes asset and graph structure available as compact, read-only JSON from inside the editor.
What the public plugin exposes
The current BlueprintInspector repository documents support for:
- Blueprint graphs, variables, components, pins and connections.
- DataTables and CurveTables with bounded row output.
- Package and graph hashes for cache validation.
- Pin-level detail for a specific Blueprint node.
- Reflection of Blueprint-visible classes, structs, properties, functions and events.
- Localhost HTTP and an editor-console command.
Tooling purpose and scope
The goal is to give scripts, editor tools and AI agents a usable view of Unreal assets without opening every graph manually. That supports debugging, structural comparison and building context for development workflows.
The public inspector runs in the editor and reads asset structure; it does not add runtime gameplay code or modify and format Blueprint graphs. Source and installation instructions are available through the repository link above.
